This is the core problem, “I love being a midwife, but I hate the care I am giving.” [& the system I work in]. It is the same across the world & over time. MWs leave & this causes understaffing & ⬆️ problems. Proposed solutions are inadequate and misaligned.

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P… “..variations in oxytocin regimens for IOL & augmentation of labour are inexplicable..crucial that the appropriate minimum infusion regimen is administered..synthetic oxytocin is a potentially harmful medication..serious consequences for women & babies..”

Support and involvement of obstetric teams for Biomechanics for Birth is key to progressing it into standard care where it should be. Supporting physiology to make birth easier for women and babies. ❤️

Gynaecoid is NOT the normal pelvis! Android pelvis is almost unknown in females. There’s a variety of shapes or as one study suggests a nebulous cloud. #Midwives & #obstetricians are educated using misleading & often false info about the female pelvis based on a study from 1933!

Such a delight to be involved in this wonderful project! Many thanks for all your hard Deepa. Thanks to the students willing to learn how to recognise when birth goes awry & the skills to resolve a birth process complicated by a mechanical issue 💖

The time has come for a paradigm shift in obstetrics’ medico-legal litigations. Intrapartum fetal surveillance is still a controversial issue sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

“There is great variation in reliability and agreement measures for continuous intrapartum FHR monitoring, implying that intrapartum CTG should be used with caution for clinical decision making given its questionable reliability.” Time for a rethink?
