Last week's aurora does provide context to these historical sightings. From satellites we know that the equatorward edge briefly came to ~40 degrees geomagnetic latitude last week. All (?) ground photos substantially equatorward from that show structureless aurora on the horizon.

午前中の彩層面、X線レベルは数回上がったりしているのですがフレア発生まではいかずエネルギ充電中と感じ、周辺は南東に比較的大き目のプロミネンスが目を引いていました

【本日の太陽】2024-5-18のHα線全面像

活動領域13684~13686が新たに出現しました。この領域は大きな黒点が密集しており、5月15日にはX2.9、17日にはM7.2の太陽フレアを観測している活発な状態です。
その少し南には東西に伸びたフィラメント、南東リムには大きなプロミネンスが見えています。
