This is good & nuanced reporting about Microsoft. — Microsoft’s headcount reached 228K. That’s massive! For context: That’s 70ish % of what Sears employed at its peak. — Right now, the emergence of AI is not a cost saver for Microsoft. It’s billions in required new spending.

I recently finished a capstone project as part of an executive fellowship at the Newmark J-School and landed on a humbling realization: that journalism is an industry that thinks more highly of itself than anyone else does of it. That’s on us to change. medium.com/news-innovatio…

So, this sums it up: A Phillies fan caught Kyle Schwarber's 1,000th hit. The fan and two friends gave the ball to Schwarber after the game. When Schwarber traded it for two signed baseballs, he asked if they wanted a third. They said they just want him to re-sign w/ the Phillies.

If another talking head were expressing this opinion, fewer people would/should complain about it. But Adam Schefter is an information broker at a (partially) league-owned network. So it's fair to ask if he's parroting someone in the NFL & what the quid pro quo might be. #Eagles

Rich is super talented. I’ve read his content for years, most recently every morning with his must-read newsletter. More than being an excellent writer and intrepid reporter, he’s a total professional and any outlet would be lucky to have him on staff.

Just a point of annoyance: Yeah, Nick Castellanos confirmed the beer-in-the-dugout story. But the real credit goes to Matt Gelb, who had it & went to Castellanos & his agent for comment. Only then did Castellanos put it out there. Good reporting forced his hand. #Phillies

Shows the difference in incentives for journalists and creators. A journalist’s primary objective in an interview is to make news. A political influencer’s objective is to keep their audience on board and further their side’s agenda. Making news is kind of a bonus.
