I love when students full commit on my random request! 🥹 We did a how-to-draw ✍️and annotated a poem to end our “Moon” Text Set week. 🌛📚We had a few extra minutes & I asked them to be inspired by the poem and adjectives. Here are some of their creations! #risdbetheone

2nd and 3rd grds. Were inspired by Stuart Gibbs Once Upon A Tim!! We explored what it means to be a hero, what traits they might have, and how their journey ends with a big dream or goal. Sts made their own heroes!

2nd grd. is working on central idea- and keywords are such an important skill! After 📖 Celebri-trees, they helped me decide what 5 words were the MOST important to share about that tree. Then they applied and shared their chosen keywords in a good ole' fashioned word art!

Figuring out the meaning of unknown words plus… ➕text features ➕dictionary skills ➕compare/contrast ➕science (cross-curricular) connection ➕Problem solving + teamwork So many great conversations in a short 30 min time period! Text Set: Growing Plants 🪴🧑‍🌾
