Evensong tonight at 6pm, with early music by Smith, Byrd, and Buxtehude, and for the anthem, Purcell's beautiful 'Remember not, Lord, our offences'. Two cracking Lenten hymns too (we'll try not to enjoy them too much). All welcome.

After yesteday's excitement, today we return to our regular programming for an evensong of Radcliffe, Howells - the St John's Service - and Leighton's powerful 'Solus ad victimam'. All welcome to Chapel at 6pm.

It's time for a highlight of the College's year: the annual Samuel Pepys Evensong & Feast! The Choir pay tribute to Pepys' naval connections with Sumsion's dramatic nautical anthem 'They that go down to the sea in ships' and Parry's 'Crossing the bar'.

Tonight at Choral Evensong, the anthem is by Clare College's Graham Ross , a beautiful setting of 'Drop, slow tears'. Alongside that, music by Smith, Byrd, and Brahms, at 6.15pm.

Today, for Evensong on the First Sunday in Lent, we Wash ourselves Throughly, and Bewein our
Sünde groß, in music by Wesley, Murrill, and Bach. Former Master of Magdalene, Dr Rowan Williams, preaches. 6pm.

Tonight is our Corporate Communion for Ash Wednesday, with Imposition of Ashes. The choir sings Lennox Berkeley's Missa brevis, and the 'Miserere' by Allegri. In this famous portrait, Allegri is depicted holding the score of his masterpiece, before tucking into a curry..

At evensong tonight, the canticles are by Daniel Purcell (Henry's bro) in E minor. For the anthem, we're reviving Buxtehude's 'Illustra faciem tuam', both to reflect the Transfiguration, and to re-live last year's wonderful tour to Italy (as pictured) 😎

Today at evensong we are lucky to have Emeritus Fellow Prof Eamon Duffy preaching. As the anthem, 'Littlemore Tractus', a spine-tingling setting of words of St. John Henry Newman, by Arvo Part. Canticles by Joanna Forbes L'Estrange . 6pm in Chapel.

Today we are up the road in lovely St Giles for a service marking the eve of Candlemas. A celebration of the light of Christ, with sumptuous music by Tallis, Eccard, and Howells, at 6.15pm.

Tomorrow is the first of our twice-termly services of candlelit Compline, at 9pm. Ancient plainchant followed by vintage port and more-recent hot chocolate.

Tonight is the first service of the new year, and we've lovely Epiphany-tide music at Choral Evensong. Radcliffe and Sumsion are joined by Mendelssohn's exciting, prophetic, consolatory chorus 'There shall a star'. 6pm in Chapel.
