Instead of just giving my Ss a rubric, I've tried to make my expectations approachable this year. I like giving them concrete examples of what my expectations are. I've seen so many more kids shoot for a 10 once they know how attainable it is!

Struggling with all the grade obsession this year. So many students asking me how they can get an A instead of an A-. The grading system in the U.S really needs to be revamped because students see their self worth through their grade.

The past few days my heart has been so heavy. But my why, is my kids. Every year you make a little family and then you have to say goodbye. They were such a special group and I will miss them so much next year ❤️ Here's a little surprise gift they made me.

So incredibly proud of my level 1's writing today! They took some risks and with help, wrote over 100 words! Can't wait to see how they do on their summatives next week.

I have students do a Friday checkout and this was something one of my level 1 students wrote. They did a Reading/Listening and Writing last week. So happy they felt prepared to do well! It's little things like this that help reassure me what I'm doing is working!

Loved having students explore Madrid today! They did a great job viewing paintings in the Prado and discussing their thoughts on bullfighting.

Love seeing level 2 "brain dumps" of all the foods we talked about this unit. Love seeing student creativity and connections.

Lvl3 Students learned about "quitapenas" from Guatemala today and then made their own! Loved seeing their creativity! #culturalconnections

In Spanish 3 we previewed our environment unit by using authentic infographics on different issues. Students had to analyze the titles and find cognates and then wrote subjunctive sentences on post it's. Thanks Kipu Visual for all the amazing visuals!

I love doing post card summatives before break. It's always fun to see what they come up with and see their creativity. So proud of their growth this unit using preterite.

Día de café was a success! Lvl 3 students had questions prepared for class and we spent 40 minutes conversing in Spanish. Students enjoyed some hot chocolate and café vibes as we embraced café culture!

So proud of my level 2 students today. They did an IPA summative where they had 10 minutes to read a schedule and write comparison sentences. They then had 5 minutes to record their comparison. They did such a good job! Proud of their willingness to elevate their learning!
