Let’s check the records on #ORGov candidates records for addressing homelessness: Johnson - helped convert one jail into a homeless shelter Drazan - nothing, nada, zilch Kotek - 19 shelters in 13 counties with on-site wraparound services — and that’s just phase 1!

Oh hells yes - and absolutely echo the below. Time will tell obviously but I have high hopes for Tina Kotek’s commitment to deep and long-term measures to adequately address our housing crisis. And if her record as Speaker is any indication, those hopes are justified.

Willamette Week This town doesn't deserve the countless women of color who actually make the change Portlanders cry out for only to dump them immediately the moment they threaten your power, scapegoating them for the damage the problematic men you support created. Shameful & grotesque. 0/10

Evidence is in: when new housing is built it stabilizes prices hyper-locally. When that doesn't happen, and prices rise, it's not caused directly by the new housing but by the fact that not *enough* new housing is built to absorb demand. #BelieveScience

One factor contributing to displacement is the distribution of development ALLOWANCES (zoning) - which tends to direct all new development to areas that've been disinvested in/ are low income. That’s partly why housing advocates fight to UPZONE AREAS OF WEALTH AND OPPORTUNITY ✌️
