Unsure how restricted visiting really is still occurring in all areas. On a personal note my grandmother died alone because the care home was on covid lockdown. Why are we affecting birth and death so much?

The culture needs to change around communicating risk in pregnancy. In September, we issued a statement along with BPAS and other maternity charities that it is vital that pregnant women/birthing people have access to good quality information. bit.ly/3EF7nFI

At the end of #NationalBreastfeedingWeek I highlight some of the ongoing national work to improve infant feeding services. The NHS Long Term Plan includes a commitment that all maternity services will begin an accreditation process for an evidence-based infant feeding programme
