I’m reading a book by a renown author Caleb Carr. Entitled “My Beloved Monster: Masha, the Half-wild Rescue Cat Who Rescued Me”. The man definitely knows & understands cats. Caleb Carr & Masha lived 17 years together. It’s a very good book and worth a read.

#Caturday The Retreat would like to honor Casper on this Saturday. He came to us a rescue kitten who we nursed thru panleukopenia. He is partially deaf and has cerebral hypoplasia. This means his rear end doesn’t follow his front end and he wobbles while walking.

We got very bad news at the Vet’s this AM. Winston’s blood marrow has stopped working. There seems little hope of recovery but the vets are hitting the books while keeping Winston comfortable with IV fluids. More later as I find it hard to type.

The Retreat just got a new temporary resident, Linus. He is a rescue who had been fostered out. The family’s own kitty got sick and to keep from spreading the illness. the Retreat agreed to house the kitty for the 10 days needed for everyone to get well. No pictures as yet.

Winston is holding his own. He’s eating, drinking, pooping & sleeping like a good cat. As we know fighting an infection - probably a bad tooth is never easy and terribly tiring. Everyone think good thoughts so we can get him to the vet in the AM and plan his dental surgery.

Winston spent every day at the vet last week. We have him at home in hope he is stabilized for the weekend. We have a conference on Mon to decide on further treatment. We need to take care of his teeth and pray he can handle the anesthesia.

Missy the Bobtail Aww Lily does the same.
