Exciting work in the lab - Yoann Gréau, Norikatsu Akizawa (Uni. Tokyo), olivier Alard studying rare Petit-Spot mantle xenoliths using unique split-stream for simultaneous in situ Re-Os and trace elements in sulfides. Redefining the 1 stone 2 birds idiom ;) Macquarie University School of Natural Sciences AuScope

We got together PhD students and ECRs from 3 uni’s across Aus, for 4 awesome days of science in Forster NSW last week. Amazing representation of geosciences in Australia, 14 different nationalities and a 49% to 51% female to male ratio! We also celebrated a few birthdays 🥳

That was an awesome retreat with excellent science presented by our junior colleagues at Macquarie University, UWA Earth Sciences and ANU Earth Sciences 🌏. Thank you Isra Ezad for organizing this and for inviting me. I hope this will see a repeat next year!

Last week, I had the great privilege to showcase the many potentials of the AusGeochem Data Platform data platform to very enthusiastic students & academics from Macquarie, ANU & UWA. Data interaction is the platform's keystone. Generating QR codes for archiving samples is 1 of many examples

The world need geoscientists more, now than ever, yet universities across Aotearoa and in Australia, wield the axe 🪓 We (geoscientists) need to get the message out to community and schools regarding the value of geoscience degrees (and the value of geoscience to our future) 🌏

Had a great time at the GESSS NSW conference at USyd! Heard lots of exciting earth sci research across NSW and ACT with old and new peers. Presented my ongoing work on the subduction journey of serpentinites, and even took home a lil lovely belemnite prize 🦑✨ #GESSSNSW2023 🌏
