📢 On the opening day of INC-4, our scientists have co-authored an article in Cambridge Core. 🎯 Based on the latest peer-reviewed science, to end plastic pollution the new treaty needs to set mandatory, time-bound global and national primary plastic polymer reduction targets.

Neue Studie zeigt, dass 90 % (N=30) der Eisbären 🐻‍❄️ Stuhlproben aus der 🇨🇦 #Arktis #Plastik enthielten, darunter PP, PE und PET. Insgesamt reichte die #Mikroplastik Konzentration von 0-1,4 Partikel/g Trockengewicht, ein Weibchen aus Baffin Bay hatte 50 Fasern/g Trockengewicht!

Eine neue Modellstudie ergab, dass Atemfrequenz, Partikelform & -größe den Transport & die Ablagerung von Nano- & #Mikroplastik in den menschlichen Atemwegen beeinflussen. Während sich größere Partikel in der vorderen Nase konzentrieren, sind kleinere gleichmäßiger verteilt.
