John Gruden Gold. 1. Everybody has dreams. I’m in to nightmares. 2. Are you invested in the TEAM? 3. Communication is not good enough, anywhere. 4. There is a big difference between good and great.

Love this 4v3 Grinnell SSG from John Carrier 🔸put 7:00 on clock 🔸4v3 each way (shooter steps off each transition) 🔸players can drive it but all shots must be 3s (defender must stay with driver) 🔸:08 shot clock 🔸every 3PM is 1 point

If BALL PRESSURE causes this much trouble for the #6 team in the country, imagine what it will do to high school guards in your conference

While setting up for our final day of camp, I saw Moussa Dukuly , unprompted, start to play 1 on 1 with one of our 5th graders. Beckham was smiling ear to ear the whole time knowing a high school varsity player took time out of his day to make the kid’s week. Bigger than basketball!

Coaches might lose their minds over this🤷‍♂️ But when you remove the whistle and allow players to travel during a small sided game like this, you might just open the door to movement patterns they've never explored before. Would you ever try this?

🔺1-on-1 Triangle Touch 👉 1 point per cone touch, can touch in any order. Change roles on deflection or out of bounds 👀 Work on using body to handle intense ball pressure. Constraints promote more drop steps, hip turns and spin dribbles.

A question I use during practice/video review is “What makes sense?”. Metacognitive awareness is key for players learning. Takes time and effort. Goal is to stack concepts organically to disorganize the defense. Then make a decision on what makes sense at the time! An example:

How Can You Teach Defensive Rebounding Better? Boxing out is one of the most poorly transferred skills in basketball. This is how we teach it using the Constraints-Led Approach (CLA)—through context, not choreography. A thread. 🧵

Sean McVay has the 2nd most playoff wins in the NFL since 2017. He's built a winning culture on high standards, togetherness, and commitment. He embeds it in their culture with ONE acronym: H.E.A.R.T. Here's what it means and why it works:🧵
