As Minister Wu & Filip Grzegorzewski 🇪🇺 bid farewell to their roles as #Taiwan ’s🇹🇼 FM & #EU 🇪🇺 Representative, respectively, this year’s Europe Festival is a poignant milestone. Despite the transition, we remain #UnitedInDiversity , with our friendship anchored firmly in shared values.
Minister Wu cordially welcomed to #Taiwan 🇹🇼the 自民党青年局 delegation led by Suzuki Takako & thanked #Japan 🇯🇵 for its determined stance on the importance of peace & stability across the #Taiwan Strait. Our two countries’ collaboration will help realize a free & open #IndoPacfic !
Thank you, Secretary Antony Blinken, for #US 🇺🇸 advocacy to include #Taiwan 🇹🇼 in the #WHA77 as an observer. Combating global health challenges demand universal involvement & inclusivity. We urge World Health Organization (WHO) to uphold integrity despite #China ’s political agenda as #Taiwan CanHelp achieve #HealthForAll .
Read this solid German Marshall Fund report debunking #Beijing ’s manipulation of United Nations🇺🇳 mechanisms. FACT: #UNGA Res. 2758 doesn’t even mention #Taiwan 🇹🇼. Bowing to #China ’s distortions jeopardizes the very foundation of the rules-based order & emboldens further challenges to sovereign states.
A friend in need is a friend indeed. Following the care & concern expressed immediately by PM Petr Fiala, Senát Parlamentu ČR President Miloš Vystrčil, Speaker @Market_a & others after the earthquake, this US$150,000 donation further underscores our enduring #Taiwan 🇹🇼 & #Czechia 🇨🇿 bond!
We thank the #US 🇺🇸 Congress for passing H.R. 815, the National Security Supplemental, & President Biden for swiftly signing it into law. The bill is a strong show of support for #Taiwan ’s🇹🇼 defense & a testament to our shared commitment to democracy & #IndoPacific peace & stability.
As announced today, I’m stepping down from 外交部 Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ROC (Taiwan) 🇹🇼 May 20. While the job was heavy at times, it’s been a tremendous honor to serve as foreign minister for the last 6 yrs. I appreciate the global support & brilliant colleagues at #MOFA . Will continue on in the same spirit. JW
Minister Wu was glad to welcome #US 🇺🇸 #House Representative Lisa McClain, Rep. Dan Kildee & Rep. Mark Alford to #Taiwan 🇹🇼. Discussions with the members of the Committee on Armed Services & the Committee on Ways & Means proved highly productive, furthering collaboration in security & trade.
The gross human rights violations in the #PRC are a major concern. It takes great moral courage to point out the #CCP ’s crimes, particularly right before a trip to #Beijing . That’s a clear difference from those who are eager to do business with #China . I salute Secretary Antony Blinken! JW
#Taiwan Strait stability is crucial for building a free & open #IndoPacific , which serves the interests of all nations that uphold the rules-based order. #Taiwan 🇹🇼 remains committed to working with the #G7 & other like-minded partners to advance these ideals for the common good.
Thank you, Emma Reilly, for speaking out on how the #PRC corrupts the United Nations & the rules-based order. #Taiwan is a known victim of #China ’s wrongdoing, but in reality the whole world suffers. We need this brought up in the #G7 , #EU & other bodies to counter this evil empire. JW
Minister Wu welcomed a #Kosovo 🇽🇰 delegation including former PM Avdullah Hoti, legislative #Taiwan 🇹🇼 friendship group Co-chair Artan Abrashi, MP Time Kadrijaj & former Deputy PM Driton Selmanaj. The warm ambiance & rich talks bolstered ties between our freedom-loving countries!
