Yesterday, we welcomed our newest team member, MDC Executive Director Char Conger (pictured 2nd from the left). Char was welcomed with a box of locally made donuts from Black Bear Bakery in downtown Chisholm. 🍩 Let’s just say, she is off to a “sweet” start! 👏

We are down in St. Paul at the MN State Capitol discussing our State Bonding project with legislators and we ran into some familiar Iron Range faces including Senator Farnsworth and Rep. Dave Lislegard who introduced our bonding bill in the House and Senate - THANK YOU! #statebonding

MDC ED Char Conger had a chance to meet with Minnesota Humanities Center OPS CEO, Kevin Lindsey, to discuss grant opportunities to bring new programming to MDC. Via past collaborations, MDC hosted the MHC traveling exhibit “We Are Water” - bridging scientific knowledges & human relationships w/ water.

We can’t wait to unveil the new indigenous themed museum mural being created on March 14th at 5:30pm at MDC thanks to a $21,999 Minnesota State Arts Board Grant we received in 2023. The event is free to attend and includes complimentary appetizers and a Q&A with the artists!
