The most exciting moment of the day is without doubt the survey lecture of the subjects of this workshop presented by the one and only Ann Blair! A panoramic overview in which all facets of note taking, both material and intellectual, are discussed. #RenStuNot

After presentation last Friday, Dalet is now accessible through dalet.be - beware: it is still a bèta version (or delta version, if you will), with numerous hiccups on which we're working, but we hope y'all like it! #CollegiumTrilingue #RenStuNot LECTIO - @lectio-institute.bsky.social

In order to revise my Akkadian, I made a transcription and normalization of a hitherto unknown Babylonian poem to which assyriologists refer as “The Monologue of Optimism”, but which I would like to call “The Litany against Fear”. #Dune

Early-modern code-switching: when you write an erudite work in Latin on the history of chess but you need to leave instructions to the book binder in the middle of the book, so you suddenly have to switch to 𝕰𝖓𝖌𝖑𝖎𝖘𝖍 (from Thomas Hyde’s Mandragorias) #bookhistory

Had the privilege today to hold in my humble hands a magnificent Hebrew tome that once belonged to Armand Jean du Plessis, cardinal de #Richelieu 😁

Visited Bath Abbey last weekend and found a Hebrew inscription on one of the walls. No mene tekel, but a vocalized Tetragrammaton, which is said to have been carved by soldiers during the Civil War (1642-1651). I wonder why!
