Nopony's sure where the breeze comes from, but it keeps today from being *too* warm. Several ponies, mostly foals, are out flying kites.

Other ponies are at the Ponyville Pool, having a splashing good time.

There are plenty of ponies — singles, couples, and families alike — who are enjoying lunch at one of Ponyville's many restaurants.

Several teenage mare- and coltfriends are sitting under trees, enjoying each other's company… while their parents watch with binoculars.

Nearly the entire town is outside — on a lovely day like today, who wouldn't be? The answer to that question, of course, is Nikki Tick.

"Mama, I'm *fine*!" calls Nikki through her door. "No, I don't want to go outside! How could I, when I have work to do?"

"I *know* it's summer, Mama. I wasn't *referring* to my schoolwork." She cracks the door open grumpily.

Nikki rolls her eyes. "Why would *anypony* with a brain in her head waste an entire day 'enjoying nature' when she could be doing SCIENCE?"

"Well, I'm sorry, Mama, but I just don't want to go outside. What kind of mad scientist goes outside?" Nikki's totally not sorry.

"Yes, I want to be a mad scientist! Mad scientists are cool! Science, Mama! Science!" Perhaps she hasn't made her point clear. "Science!"

"I *will* suit myself! Thanks for asking." She closes the door gently, so as to not disturb the various projects she has lying around.

Nikki grumbles as she trots down Mane Street. "Stupid Mama, making me go outside! It's her own fault if one of my unattended experiments…"

"… were to blow up! Humph!" She scowls at nearly everypony she sees.

Not even the new dessert-before-dinner and no-curfew laws can cheer this grumpy foal up.

Nikki squeals as the *FIGHTCLOUD* sucks her up. "Aah! Apple Bloom, is that you?"

Nikki's not sure what just happened. One minute she was in the middle of a massive *FIGHTCLOUD*, the next… it was gone.

Though she definitely couldn't have heard @mlp_PipPirate, Nikki suddenly flops. "…?!"

Nikki spies Silver Spoon. "Hay there!" she calls cheerfully.

Nikki, who doesn't know about players and such, is surprised that Silver Spoon doesn't seem to recognise her. "O… kay?"
