As a society we should be aiming to ensure that all employees & employers have the financial and practical support needed to manage (and prevent) sickness absence. The value to people, businesses & the economy would be huge. This report outlines first steps to doing this.

And shouldn't forget that existing services are already providing significant benefits. Report uses @BritishInsurers data to demonstrate the scale of the existing benefits.

Not often the ChX and HMT comment publicly on your work...! Great that we can use the Social Metrics Comm. poverty measurement framework to assess the impacts of policy on poverty. Also important to give Govt credit when it makes good decisions!
