📜Paper📜 in Brain and Behavior with Keith R Abrams, Nick Latimer, Michela Guglieri, Mark Rutherford and Michael Crowther. Assessing the CPRD as a data resource for DMD (and other rare disease) natural history models: ✅ Mortality ❓ Intermediate events doi.org/10.1002/brb3.3… #rarediseases

*NEW PAPER* "Using temporal recalibration to improve the calibration of risk prediction models in competing risk settings when there are trends in survival over time" led by Sarah Booth onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/si…

NIHR workshop on PPIE for statistical methodology research (🗓️26th Feb 🗺️Leicester) is OPEN for expressions of interest. 50 free places, complete EoI by 16/01/24 shorturl.at/jrOZ6. Places will be confirmed by 31/01/24. NIHR Involvement

London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine #StataBio24 presenter Betty Syriopoulou from Biostatistics Group at MEB, Karolinska Institutet showed how to perform mediation analysis in the relative survival framework using the stpm3 and standsurv commands; she demonstrated the approach by exploring cancer survival differences across socioeconomic groups.

Research by Nick Latimer and colleagues shows that forcing a marginal hazard ratio to 1 does not accurately assess mean survival difference under individual-level treatment effect waning. More at ow.ly/gHFY50QO0yc. #HEOR #HTA #harzardratio #ValueinHealth

Applications are now open for this new course at Biostatistics: Uni of Leicester. A complementary course to our long-established MSc in Medical Statistics, with extra emphasis on key data science skills, whilst retaining the robustness offered by statistical thought processes.
