In our January STEAM challenge our 5th graders were challenged to rescue a fellow astronaut from the moon and land them safely on Earth. We worked on budgeting for supplies and discussed which designs created the safest landing!

Day 1 playing our math board games! I love seeing how creative my students can be while they are showing off the skills they learned this year.

Today we had fun testing our mayflower boats to see if they could withstand the seas 🌊. Our leading boat held 100 passengers (marbles) before sinking! Love incorporating the design process into our monthly steam challenges.

It was a busy day today at the Decimal Diner! Students used restaurant menus and decimal computation to find out how much it would cost to eat out as a family. It was no surprise that students found it to be more expense than their estimates! #mistrong #masonmoments
