Imagine if you will a “portal draft” every year from the lower division to the higher Division. We have that now but add the pomp and circumstance and the media razzle dazzle and it’s a recipe for driving away more fans of the sport.

MHver3 sources were real. MWC motion to dismiss denied. Extremely strong precedent for conferences to only collect 50% on the $ in exit fees. That means MWC promised double what it will actually be able to pay UNLV and Air Force. UNLV now wants to be upper 1/3 of the new Pac-12.

Someone might get in trouble for breaking a NDA (but not me): hearing that a possible breakaway of the SEC/big 10 might not have NCAA branding, but instead could have branding and endorsement in a partnership with the NFL. Could even see these “ schools” have a high school draft

The massive equity deal that will forever reshape the B10 and college sports is inching closer. Now hearing UVA is out as the partner for ND and it’s either Miami or Stanford.

Could Michigan and USC really completely spin college sports on its head and create a NEW conference to combat the B10 and SEC? Private Equity kills all.

MHver3 (@mhver3) 's Twitter Profile Photo

There is real fire to the smoke that Mich and USC could leave the B10 over the equity deal. So much so that both schools have negotiated a backroom back up plan for non football sports to move to the ACC if necessary.

MHver3 (@mhver3) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Nothing would happen until the current contract ends but after that do not be shocked for both schools to possible go Indy in football and join ACC in all else ala Notre Dame.

What kind of television deal could a consortium of Notre Dame/Michigan/USC command for just their home football games? Assuming Michigan kept the OSU rivalry game?

If the B10 signs off on the equity deal and it bears out to bite them in the ass in some way (as these things always do) then Yormark looks like a genius for scaring them into it by showing early interest in pursuing something like this (and then backing off).

If the supposedly richest and most powerful conference needs a $2.4 billion cash injection for “long term stability” then maybe we need to reassess this entire sport.
