How it Started How it’s Going Our first Spud state championship team was the 1928 basketball team. Our latest state champions are the 2025 boys hockey team. Just as we still remember the 1928 boys basketball team 97 years later, we will always remember the 2025 hockey team!

The “Spud Jersey Wall” at Moorhead High School is being installed. Thanks to this crew for working over spring break to get the mounting hardware attached. We hope to begin hanging jerseys and uniforms next week! #SpudPride

The Spud Jersey and Uniform Wall at the new Moorhead High School is complete. Special thanks to Shelly Connelly and her sons Jack and Grant (in photo on the lift) who helped make this display possible as funds for the project were provided by the Steve Connelly memorial.

The Historic Moorhead Dairy Queen is celebrating our MHS Boys Hockey Team winning the 2025 state championship with the “Spud Hat Trick Sundae”. It will be offered for a limited time while helmets last. Get yours today! And a special thank you to Troy and Diane at the DQ!

***Spud History*** Our MHS speech team just won their 8th straight state championship. They had 17 medal winners and 3 individual state champions. Elite.

A special Spud thank you to Diane Brendemuhl (left) and Doreen Peters for donating the tennis warm up jacket (above) that belonged to their late sister, Debbie Hjalmquist. They also shared this epic photo of the 1977 tennis team. Once a Spud . . . Always a Spud.
