Every year, our year 3-5 Manchester Grammar Junior School enjoy a week at Plas Menai taking part in a fabulous range of activities on and off the water - we hear from some of our year 5 pupils and what they enjoyed this year! #watersports

Pupils from years 3 to 13 have the opportunity to represent MGS in football fixtures played throughout the year - we look forward to the start of the season in September! #football

Pupils who join their year group Waterpolo team play regular fixtures against teams across the country, including nearby schools like Manchester High School for Girls. #waterpolo

Rugby is a popular Winter Sport at MGS, with the opportunity for all Senior School and Sixth Form pupils to represent the school in fixtures throughout the year.  #rugby

Given that pupils have access to our high-quality water-based Hockey Astro on site, they can regularly train and compete against other teams throughout the year. #hockey

Well done to Senior School Manchester Grammar School pupil Josh who recently won Silver at the U16 Boys Tennis tournament at the European Maccabi Youth Games: it was a tough competition and Josh lost the final on a match tie. He also won Bronze in the Doubles tournament! #tennis

Pupils from years 3 - 13 have access to our on-site swimming pool, with regular swimming sessions for all abilities as well as the opportunity to learn how to play waterpolo. #swimmingpool

Well done to Senior School Manchester Grammar School pupils Ryan and Gus who have just returned from a football tournament where they represented ISFA at National U14 level. The tournament was held at Haileybury and there were teams from Ireland, Canada and even the US. #football

MGS is celebrating another year of excellent examination results for its Sixth Form pupils. Over a third of all grades were at the highest A* level, whilst 85% of grades were A*-B. 33 boys achieved three or more A* grades, and 88 achieved three or more A grades. #alevelresultsday

Pupils at The Manchester Grammar School are celebrating another year of exceptional GCSE examination results. 40% of all grades were at the very highest grade 9 level and two-thirds of all grades achieved were 9 or 8 (the equivalent of an A*). #gcseresultsday

This morning, around 140 of our new Year 7 pupils took part in a range of sports, while 60 enjoyed Art and Drama sessions. With the sun shining, they’ll be heading to the Freshers’ Fair shortly to explore the co-curricular opportunities available at MGS! #Year7 #NewBeginnings

Well done to OM Matthew Murthy (15-24) for being awarded an engraved shield by Marylebone Cricket Club at Lord's. Each year, the MCC honours exceptional performances by school cricketers in matches against MCC. He was recognised for his outstanding 6 for 49 for MGS against #MCC in May 2023.

Alongside all members of the Senior School and Sixth Form, our #JuniorSchool pupils have embraced the start of the academic year. We are delighted to welcome our year 3 pupils, along with new starters and returning pupils, as they embark on challenges of their academic journey.
