Q2: Building Community is about making every member feel important. Never be to busy to help students talk out their problems or just to listen. The time you put in on the front end will more than be returned in their focus on the back end. #NHCSchat

Knowing your students and setting up the room and assignments for what they need. Fair isn't all the same. Remember your goal is to educate, not to control. My only unbreakable "rule" is kindness. #NHCSchat

Q4: Offer extension activities and challenges, but ensure all of the learning occurs in the classroom. Not every child has the ideal situation for learning at home. All requirements happen in the classroom. And be light on the requirements and heavy on the choices. #NHCSchat

Q5: Having a space and time for learning (easier said than done for some families). Parents be involved and ask your children wht they are learning and teaching children how to reach out to their teachers for help. #NHCSchat

Equity is making sure that all students have the same access to a quality education. It is an impossible measure to achieve, but should always be our first priority. And Kaycee Smith is my new Equity touchstone! I admire her greatly. #NHCSchat @kaycee23smith

During remote learning, making sure students have access to food and technology. Spending time out in the community delievering both. When we realized school laptops needed Flash Drive to complete Edgenuity projects, we bought flashdrives that day. #nhcschat

We spend out time and money on what is important. Equity should always be on the agenda first and money should always be spent when we see a need to provide equal access. #NHCSchat

Equity has always been on my radar as a teacher but raising my ow children to become the young adults that I want them to be has sharpened my focus on equity. I am capable of being at level 5, but sometimes I am reminded of something and realize I still have work to do. #NHCSchat

As a teacher my focus has always been that we are creating good people I argue it is more important than the academics. Part of being a good person is learning that your voice is powerful and you need to use it to better your life and the people's lives around you #NHCSchat
