Child trafficking is a serious human rights violation where children are unlawfully recruited, transported, or sold for exploitation. Ending child trafficking requires strong laws, awareness and community protection efforts.

The Ministry reports success reintegrating 425 children living/working on streets into schools for 2025. Collaboration with Education Ministry ensured children received uniforms, psychosocial care & more. A 2025/26 study will explore root causes to improve child protection.

The Ministry & UNAM are hosting a workshop at the After School Centre to strengthen home-based care for children with disabilities. Child Care Officers are trained on attitudes, identifying developmental DELAYS & practical skills to support growth & socialization.

Namibia closed 81.1% of its gender gap, 1st in Africa, 8th globally, H. E. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah said at Beijing+30 in New York. Women hold key roles, but rural women face economic challenges. Namibia renews commitment to end GBV and advance SDG 5.

The Ministry is accelerating progress! Launching business & digital skills for women, reactivating #EndGBV Namibia, and rolling out a vital 7-week ECD Educarers training across 7 regions. With 8 new social workers, child welfare stands stronger than ever.

Hon. Kantema spoke on behalf of the PM at the Fish Trust Gala. She said, “Our fish resources must reach every Namibian, boosting health and livelihoods.” At 18.07 kg per person, fish intake can grow, strengthening nutrition, education, and sustainability across the country.
