🚨New paper! 🚨 Back during my PhD I looked at how bandicoots responded to predators and their cues…turns out they didn’t respond a whole lot (other than live 🐶🐶) publish.csiro.au/AM/AM23001

It took 5 years, 46 released eastern quolls, hundreds of their pups, 6 months of radiotracking, countless fieldwork fails, 5 manuscripts, and 1 finished thesis to finally don the gown and bonnet! 🎓 Thank you so much to everyone who helped get me here 💙

Bird nerd & visiting PhD student Shoshana Rapley gave a fascinating talk at WildCRU today on #reintroduction of Bush Stone-curlews in parts of S. Australia where the #birds’ populations have plummeted. From site selection to behaviour studies, head-starting, use of detector dogs & more.

Everybody needs good neighbours! We GPS-tracked Mulligans Flat-born eastern quolls and those reintroduced from Discover Tasmania, and found their movement, habitat use, and interactions were markedly different! Can this help us design future reinforcements? 🤔 doi.org/10.1007/s10531…
