4/ This money comes at a time when more than 200 Americans are dying of overdose daily. So there are high hopes for how it can be used. And big concerns. Here’s what Courtney Gary-Allen of Maine Recovery Advocacy Project told me:

It’s a sad week in Maine, where lawmakers rejected the only 100% effective life saving measure to keep our friends, family and community members alive. We shall be back. And in the mean time, 2 Mainers a week will continue to die.
