The talents & gifts of students w/ disabilities are varied, as are the talents & gifts of all students. Students w/ disabilities have so much to offer their peers, teachers, & schools. #disabilityawarenessmonth #InclusionMatters

Communities thrive when we all take an active part. When you embrace your community & the people who live there–everyone feels at home. Be a force in your community in promoting the #independence #integration & #inclusion of all people w/disabilities. #DisabilityAwarenessMonth

Children grow from encountering a variety of experiences. Inclusive settings offer students many incidental opportunities to learn useful skills, such as following typical daily routines, figuring out multiple ways to solve problems, sharing stories & communicating effectively.

#DisabilityAwareness programs are influential to the overall environment of a school; educating students so they may become better citizens. When you free your mind & see the potential inside everyone, you’ll expand your horizons ... and your circle of friends. #InclusionMatters

Disable the label. Defining people only by their disability can be hurtful and limiting. But when we see others for who they really are, we can learn a lot about true character. #DisabilityAwarenessMonth

Strive for a world that views disability not as a hindrance but as unique attributes that can be seen as powerful assets if given the right opportunities. Focus not on the differences of people w/ disabilities but the talent of the individual. #DisabilityAwarenessMonth

#Awareness is the first step in promoting positive change. Once people are able to recognize the promise of inclusive education, they can begin to seek the knowledge and skills necessary to realize their goals. #DisabilityAwarenessMonth

It’s important to take #awareness to the next level-ACTION! Building the knowledge & skills of students, families & members of the community increases the likelihood that inclusive practices will become integrated into the framework of the community. #DisabilityAwarenessMonth

#DisabilityAwarenessMonth helps in subsiding the stereotypical mindset of the society, hence providing vast opportunities for everyone to get involved in creating a positive, inclusive society for all. We all should make an effort to move past #awareness & into #acceptance

A fun, engaging & interactive program, individualized to meet each camper’s diverse needs. A collaborative environment where all staff (SPED teachers, PT, Paras, & IU SLP grad clinicians) were valued equally and encouraged to be both teachers and learners. #CampConnections2021
