We in the EU can be grateful to House Judiciary GOP 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Rep. Jim Jordan for helping to surface what a disaster the EU Digital Services Act is for free speech in Europe. Petty censors are now trying to impose their private ideologies on European public discourse. The DSA is a censors' charter

The US and the EU are signaling very different interpretations of the trade deal. Politico EU even commented that EU had called the Trump administration's "bluff" on digital regulation. All while the The White House statement speaks of "addressing unjustified digital trade barriers"

According to Judge Mehta's decision in U.S. v Google, the company is meant to share user-side search query data with competitors. This looks a lot like EU DMA, but with important differences. My analysis/comparison: truthonthemarket.com/2025/09/03/com…

I find it curious that the EC seems to be spinning this fine as low. Isn't it a pretty large percentage of Google's AdX revenue in Europe (on which the EC says the fine was based)? Will this really be seen as a low number in Washington?

In Mikołaj Barczentewicz's republished paper in Concurrences, two models of data sharing are compared: Judge Mehta's remedy in US v. Google and the EU DMA. One is targeted and built around governance, the other is broad and tied to strict anonymization rules. Full article ↓

Following Meta's announcement about "pay or consent" for Facebook and Instagram in the UK: why can Meta offer a binary choice in the UK, without the free-of-charge “less personalized ads” option like in the EU? Why is Meta charging less in the UK? eutechreg.com/p/why-is-meta-…

Apple has some good points here. The USA (so far) has escaped this fate, but we have anti-tech & anti-consumer demons of our own that need to be kept at bay
