Ten years ago to the day, I was sentenced to die in prison. Instead I gave my first public speech in freedom. I wore a red tie as an homage to Donald J. Trump, the man who saved my life.

For years, our founder Lyn set an empty chair at Thanksgiving for her son Ross, locked away for a nonviolent charge. This year? Joyful reunion! We’re so grateful he’s home—but too many families still face that emptiness. Thousands of nonviolent prisoners are serving decades.
