This imagery is so brutally on point it feels like we are reading a Dickens novel. Hurting people who are hungry doesn't make Kansas better. #ksleg could end the tax on grocery bills right now and do far more good than this invented controversy

Deeply grateful that the #ksleg continued to move forward with desperately needed legislation to help our farmers and rural communities facing drought. We cannot stand idle and we must act now.

What the KSGOP has done here is not about fair elections and voter security. This is atemper tantrum because Laura Kelly beat them, again, and they will do anything to restrict the right to vote of Kansans who don't vote the way KSGOP wants. Their own SoS disagrees with them.

Kansas House votes overwhelmingly (116-6) to pass bill 2279, which requires groundwater management districts to do more to preserve the Ogallala Aquifer. It says GMDs need to identify spots with the worst depletion and submit water conservation action plans to the state. #ksleg

To our LGBTQ friends, family, neighbors and Kansas Community: this is wrong, we see you, we stand with you, we will not stop fighting these attacks on your existence.

This was a blatant attack on local elections and an attempt to polarize Kansans even further regardless of the damage it would do. We we grateful that the voices of so many advocates and leaders were heard.

Truth directly from candidates like Courtney on the ground running local #ksleg races and talking to the voters at the doors and in their communities. This is common sense - and it's time to stop playing games with Kansas Education - it's dangerous for our economy and our future.

This is a poison pill on what was bipartisan legislation to help seniors in Kansas who are trying to make ends meet. There was no need to do this to the social security tax relief that would have immediately helped Kansas seniors. #ksleg #justdisappointed

We need a strong KDP to fight for LGBTQ Kansans in every county and in #ksleg. That means real organizing, fundraising, building relationships, winning seats, and being #readydayone Thank you to the KS Dem LGBTQ Caucus for your endorsement.

So we can just stop pretending this had anything to do with helping low income families and is clearly now about subsidizing students already in Private School or an income bracket that could afford it. And they are taking money out of Public Education classrooms to do it.

We cannot keep failing communities by meeting their basic need for access to health care. KS failing to expand Medicaid is a drag on our economy and draining the pockets of the Kansans who can least afford our failure.

Any one else physical cringe when folks say “Indian” instead of that person’s Tribe, Indigenous or Native American persons? 😵‍💫 #NativeTwitter

I will continue to fight for our rights inside the legislature. We need everyone outside of the capitol to stay informed and take action. Contact your legislators. We will be back on Wednesday. #ksleg

We are honored to have the support of Topeka Mayor Mike Padilla. Local elected officials are so critical for the future of our party and our state. We need to work with Democrats across Kansas and make our local races a priority.

My friend and former State Rep from Dodge, Ethel Peterson, passed away yesterday. She was a stalwart Democrat and an incredible educator. My deepest condolences to her family and community.
