For those asking why I didn't add more characters

This was made for my M&L game concept (see pinned tweet) so I only ever really had intention of doing these six.

I welcome other artists to add more characters to this animation, though. 👀

The idea was too good to pass up.

I found a file full of my old drawings and among them were one with these old Paper Mario partner OCs from nearly a decade ago.

I wonder if I should redraw these. I haven't really tackled the Paper Mario artstyle since then.

Would you believe me if I said this was the very thing that inspired me into art

As a kid I would watch videos like these on youtube, where people would make their own DS systems out of paper and slide Mario around on a popsicle stick. I tried making one of my own to cope with not owning a real DS myself.
