Lymington and Yarmouth RNLI Lifeboats and Gosport Independent Lifeboat respond to Mayday from powerboat at risk of sinking in central Solent on Sunday afternoon. Water ingress stopped and vessel and seven persons onboard safely returned to shore.

On Tuesday Lymington Lifeboat launched to the aid of a 21ft motorboat drifting towards the Shingle Bank in an ebbing tide and strong wind. The casualty was successfully towed to safety. We remind all water users that lifejackets are useless unless worn.

Lymington Lifeboat crew returned one man and his boat to safety on Monday. Without propulsion and unable to reach safe haven, the owner and his yacht were towed to safety. Sailing is wonderfully accessible but we recommend getting some tuition before heading out on the water.

Lymington’s volunteer lifeboat crew worked alongside local CRT, Ambulance and HART teams to quickly assess and safely evacuate a local walker with a broken shoulder from Lymington seawall at 2.39pm on Wednesday 23 October.
