Just saw on LinkedIn a media company post a remote job with a monthly rate and no health insurance coverage. The monthly rate equals $76k a year. When jobs, fellowships & full-time internships don't include health insurance, they can exclude disabled people from applying, IMHO.

This is one of the core disagreements at the heart of why some people are attacking diversity initiatives…

The fact is that everyone is stretched really thin, and it can majorly dissuade independents from applying when they have to ask people (in power) multiple times to write them letters for different applications.
Letters of rec are a form of exclusion on many levels.

I’m super proud of you all for this. We have to find a way to include more BIPOC patients this time.

Last year, an X-ray revealed a small bulge that indicates the beginning of an aortic aneurysm. 4 yrs of LC for me & Covid is known to accelerate their growth, yet insurance hasn’t adjusted for this fact, so Drs. can’t ⬆️ their surveillance. Most I can do is an annual X-ray.😠
