The general public’s lack of understanding about what evidence is always boggles my mind.

I suppose this is hard to understand if you think the purpose of a police presence is to “defuse a crisis.” Once you know that is absolutely NOT their purpose, it becomes much easier to understand.

I don't particularly care what you think of the recent student protests.

The use of militarized police forces on protesters is unconscionable. It is not freedom. It is quite frankly authoritarian.

I truly can't comprehend this 'let the authorities crack some heads' approach.

I realize this is not a popular opinion, but you can abjectly disagree with the campus protesters’ stance but still want their rights protected. Police violence is NOT the answer.

If police are willing to viciously assault and beat a middle aged white female college professor like this in front of CNN, why do you think they murder so many unarmed Black folks?

Police presence at protests ALWAYS causes escalation to violence. POLICE violence.

Others have said this better but I truly don't think people are remembering that many of the students protesting now, have never expected cops to protect them. They have grown up doing school shooting drills and they know if something happens, no one is coming. They're prepared.

If it's OK to arrest and/or expel public college students for 'antisemitism,' it is OK to arrest and expel students for 'transphobia,' 'sexism,' and 'racism.'

If you can't see how this is a threat to free speech and open debate... I don't know how to make you see it.

This is exactly what’s going to happen. The magic word you will be looking for in the decision is “remand.”
