Good morning from NW Georgia!! Severe weather is a threat again today across parts of the South and Ohio Valley. Time to stay prepared and aware!

Weather report as I am now under a severe thunderstorm watch in the Nashville, TN area! Stay safe and stay weather aware!

I will declare a state of emergency for Branch, Cass, and St. Joseph counties following the severe weather. We’re working with emergency teams to monitor the situation and coordinate resources for those impacted. My heart is with the families who lost loved ones or were injured.

NWS Grand Rapids has confirmed an EF-0 tornado in Calhoun County, MI. That makes 4 total confirmed tornadoes from the same parent supercell that also dropped tornadoes in Edwardsburg (TBD), Three Rivers (preliminary EF-2), and Union City (preliminary EF-3).

Another round of severe thunderstorms is possible on Tuesday, mainly in the late afternoon and early evening. Large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes are all possible. #stlwx #mowx #midmowx #ilwx

Our forecast is largely unchanged. Conditions will be very favorable for severe storms in NE MO/W-central IL this evening, with a question if storms develop before conditions become less favorable. Increasing storms expected overnight, with tapering severe threat.
