1/2 As we gear up for the expansion and rollout of the #NotInMyVillageCampaign in the next four provinces (Manicaland, Mash West, Mat South & Mash East) we had a successful closed-door meeting with the President of the National Chiefs Council, Chief Mtshane Khumalo.

2/2 We provided him with an update on the campaign, what we have done so far, lessons learned, successes from the pilot province (Mash Central), as well as our next steps. He complimented the work we are doing & guided us on how best we can make the campaign even more effective

On March 24, the Matabeleland South #NotInMyVillageCampaign Inception Meeting was held in Bulawayo. In 2024, Beitbridge recorded 1,273 teenage pregnancies and 31,248 child marriages, while Insiza recorded 944 teenage pregnancies and 20,872 child marriages.

On 29th March 2025, with support from UNFPA Zimbabwe & NAC Zimbabwe , we held our National First Quarter Meeting. We reviewed Q4 2024 & Q1 2025, shared challenges, best practices, and feedback, and oriented our team on the UNITED! Movement .

1/2 On 26th March 2025, we successfully held the Mashonaland West #NotInMyVillageCampaign Inception Meeting, thanks to the technical and financial support from the NAC Zimbabwe & UNFPA Zimbabwe through the Safeguard Young People Programme & 2gether4SRHR #PutYoungPeopleFirst

2/2 The campaign will target Hurungwe and Chegutu, two districts with alarmingly high rates of teenage pregnancies and child marriages. In 2024 alone, Chegutu recorded 2,155 teenage pregnancies, while Hurungwe reported 3,038 cases.

1/3 Last Friday, March 28, 2025, we concluded the week with the inception meeting for the Manicaland #NotInMyVillageCampaign. NAC Zimbabwe and UNFPA Zimbabwe ,through the Safeguard Young People Programme and 2gether4SRHR, support this initiative technically and financially. #PutYoungPeopleFirst

2/3 The campaign will target 2 districts experiencing alarmingly high rates of teenage pregnancies & child marriages. In 2024, Chipinge reported 3,239 teenage pregnancies, while Mutare Rural had 2,254 cases. Manicaland recorded 161 school dropouts due to marriage and pregnancy.
