Today, I was joined by Mayor Christi Fraga in preparing storm-related packages that will be distributed to Floridians impacted by Hurricane #Helene. Our administration is grateful for the countless volunteers and organizations like Global Empowerment Mission who come together

Today I visited Dekle Beach, where Hurricane Helene made landfall, to survey the devastation it caused. Many lost their homes. The Florida National Guard is on site to hand out food and water, and we're working with local officials to keep roads clear and residents safe.

I toured the Bradenton area beaches that experienced major storm surge from Hurricane Helene. SR 789/Gulf Drive is covered in sand and washed out in places. Estimates were originally calling for weeks or months to repair it, but I've instructed FLORIDA DOT to help get it done

I visited the Emergency Operations Center in Pasco County to hear from Director Andrew Fossa and local officials about their recovery efforts. Hurricane #Helene was a significant storm but the State of Florida is committed to helping them rebuild.

The kind and caring Florida Dept. of Health staff and employees at Fasano Regional Hurricane Shelter are doing everything they can to help Floridians that have lost their homes or simply cannot get to them yet. Thank you Joseph A. Ladapo, MD, PhD for joining me during this special visit.

If you want to know how our state inspects and reopens bridges, repairs roads, and clears roadways filled with debris in record time after a storm, it’s because of the leadership of Jared W. Perdue, P.E. Jared Perdue and the hard working FDOT crew members that are out on the field.
