But the saddest thing of all is that gold beating to make gold leaf as a skilled craft is no more in the UK. The making was outsourced to China some years ago. Heritage Crafts Italy still does this I believe so why can’t the UK? Department for Culture, Media and Sport crafts need support!

The ones for the young uns are free. But if you treat yourself to a 3/4 day course they are expensive BUT only 5 people per course, in Bernard’s original studios and the 1:1 time is amazing.
