Great news. Loreto Rumbek is extending its Mission to Aweil.

In 2006 in Rumbek South Sudan, an area bigger than Munster, only 13 girls were in 2nd level education. Since then over 500 girls have graduated from Loreto Schools Rumbek. A campaign for a new girls secondary school in Aweil has now been launched. Please support loretorumbek.ie/donate/

We were delighted to welcome Orla Treacy and a number of members of the Loreto Schools Rumbek community to school today. Sr. Orla hosted assemblies for all year groups telling them about life and school in South Sudan. She also met the past three winners of the Sr. Orla Treacy Award.

We were delighted to welcome Sr Orla Treacy, past pupils and staff members from our sister school Loreto Schools Rumbek this week to Loreto Abbey Secondary School, Dalkey who spoke to us about the new Loreto mission in South Sudan.

Today, we visited Sr. Orla's former secondary school in Bray. We spoke to all students about our new mission, and they promised us their support. Thanks for having us. Loreto Secondary School Bray

What a beautiful day! Thanks to Loreto Secondary Kilkenny for an amazing meeting with all the students. A special moment was meeting three South Sudanese students there. Later, we had the chance to visit Ardboy Dairy Farm and learn how to milk their cows. Loreto Kilkenny

Today we received a warm welcome at Loreto Stephens Green Secondary and Primary. We talked about Loreto Aweil, exchanged ideas about ideals of beauty in our respective cultures and marvelled at the fish in the fish tank. Thank you all for your great support. @loretoonthegreen

We were delighted to welcome Sr Orla, Mr Yuga, Mary and Adak from Loreto Rumbek, South Sudan. 2nd - 6th Class were enthralled as we heard how the money we raise through our yearly cake sale is changing lives! Sr Orla is planning to open another school soon. Watch this space!
