At #LDCConf2023 Visit Harrogate. Lord Toby Harris of GDC making strong points on workforce data, ‘dental deserts’, & scope for regulatory reform with prevailing constraints. The Association of Dental Groups is very keen to support appropriate data collection and steps to enhance recruitment.

Unlike other detention settings, deaths of people detained under the Mental Health Act are not subject to proper independent investigations. Baroness Berridge & Lord Toby Harris raised concerns about this lack of independent scrutiny during a debate on mental health inpatient safety.
