This week Creative Writing and English students are creating book spine poetry, blackout poetry, magnetic poetry, acrostic poems, senses poems, and haikus. They were also able to find poems in different poetry books, experiencing a variety of different forms in the Poetry Lounge.

This week students had the opportunity to visit the Marshall High School Academy program. There they learned about a variety of vocational courses they can take while in high school.

Fairfax County Public Schools Food and Nutrition Services is hosting a special Engage, Advise, Taste (EAT) focus group, and Longfellow students got to participate! These students were able to sample new menu items and give real feedback that could shape future school lunches!

Students hear about different summer reading programs in the Library before school gets out for the summer.

This week, Ms. Haley's class had a Lego day! Students were challenged to recreate an event or image in history they learned about this year. What a fun and interactive way to close out the school year!

Congratulations to the MathCounts 2024-25 Team for placing 2nd in the High School Mathematics League Championship. Yes, that is the HS championship. We came in 2nd place to McLean High School. In addition, students with a perfect score included Shawn Bi, Alex Lee, and Alice Wang.

No power? No wifi? No problem! During our power outage this morning, Engineering students completed a Lego Challenge.

Today we launched our new Enrichment Friday program during Learning Seminar. Students were able to sign up for an activity they enjoyed where they can build community with students and staff. From silent reading to karaoke, there's truly something for everyone.
