We had an amazingly good value #chardonnay last night from the family owned Kleine Zalzer in the South African Cape. Perfect amount of oak and a lovely freshness. We couldn’t believe the price for the quality - £12.49 as part of a case price from the fabulous The Wine Reserve

A confusing and interesting wine. Athingmill, from Tillingham (it’s an anagram) is red and white, grapes and apples, and combines nearly every grape variety you can imagine (and then adds cider). Tastes amazing, like boozy fruit sherbet. From the brilliant Wine List

We had this New Zealand Chardonnay last night from Majestic Wine and it was stunning. Not cheap at £25 but well worth it as an alternative to a bottle of something ordinary in the pub.

Wine club’s lucky dip secret Santa wines this year included a Barossa Shiraz, a Californian Pinot Noir, a Sainte Aubin, a white Priorat and a Grace Koshu Kayagatake from Japan. Can’t wait to try my Tempranillo from Ribeiro del Duero 🍷 #wine #winelover

In search of the perfect Chardonnay under £20: this is a contender. 2014 Latitude 41 Moutere Chardonnay from Bottle Apostle. Lovely and buttery with caramel notes. £16.65.
