Using 302 (!) standardised household surveys from 1986 to 2019, we estimate trends in the prevalence of premature and early menopause in 76 LMICs. And thanks to the genius of Alison Gemmill we use SMAM techniques for truncated data to estimate the mean age at menopause before 50

Biggest study to date to look on a rather neglected topic in low income settings shows an increasing prevalence of early and premature menopause, in particular in sub-Saharan Africa and South/Southeast Asia. where we also see a decline of the mean age at menopause
