Winter planting is essential for Scotland's biodiversity. FriendsOfLochendPark #Edinburgh used Volunteering Matters #ActionEarth grant to put 1,500+ bulbs/plants into the ground for a winter sleep to benefit resident species inc. bats & moths. Funded by NatureScot #MakeSpaceForNature

A busy morning down on the Rocheid path for 23 of our volunteers. Mud removed from the access path to Summer place. Litter picking galore including a sofa, bike and scooter. How are bat populations doing in the UK? A Bat Conservation Trust report on UK’s bat species, published earlier this year, shows nature can recover, given the right opportunity. But there are worrying signs of change which we need more data to understand: bats.org.uk/news/2024/05/n…
