Already there’s been 21 days in #London above 25C including today, this compares with 7 up to this point in 2022 (hot summer). We have experienced the warmest spring on record (1948-present) and shortly warmest June on record. There is no precedent. Spring 2011 former warmest

If you’re wondering in 1976 year to date we was on 17 days ≥25C I believe this is 2nd highest followed by 2023 with 16 days all from June. In 1976 we had seen 7 (!!) ≥30C days to this point we are currently on 3 days but we likely will add 3 more days in near future.

Business as usual? A prolonged dry stint since March followed an unusually unsettled 2 years, but ECMWF guidance shifts ever wetter. Abnormally so for September. It seems normal weather becomes harder to achieve in this climate. Last Sept was also extremely unsettled, it was

False spring? Mild and dry conditions are expected over next week, but there are hints of heights going further north and cool E flows into second week of March. A rapid deceleration in zonal wind as expected would make that more likely than usual.
