I rose today with a heavy heart to adjourn in the memory of Supervisor Richard Valle. This loss is felt across the East Bay. He gave a voice to those most vulnerable in our community and was a true public servant. Rest in power Supervisor Valle.

Today, I introduced my first bill! AB 800: “Workplace Readiness Week” will empower California high schoolers to enter the workforce knowledgeable on their rights as working minors, and educate them on Labor history and its hard fought contributions to workers rights. #CALeg

CA should be taking proactive steps to educate young workers about their rights to a fair wage, safe workplace, and to join a union. We’re excited to work with Assemblymember Liz Ortega on #AB800 to create a “Workplace Readiness Week” for CA high schoolers to prep them for the workforce!
