Littlemill. The final legacy of Scotlands oldest distillery. Here’s one of our last ever casks being taken from our racked warehouse. We cherish every bottle sold, because it’s almost our last.

The story of Littlemill began over 2 centuries ago, in 1772 when the distillery was first built. All that history, passion, and whisky making knowledge goes into every drop of our single malt scotch whiskies, including our latest 29 year old release. littlemilldistillery.com

There was a time when our staff unloaded our grain by hand - it’s a taste of history. A reminder of what it takes to make a whisky of such exceptional character. The stills of Littlemill may have fallen silent in 1994, but the legacy, and the last, precious drops live on.

Littlemill is not a ‘quick’ drink. Coming from Scotland’s oldest distillery and aged for up to 40 years, it’s a whisky that has been etched into history since 1772. It took patience to make our whisky, so have the patience to drink it’s depth of flavours ever so slowly.

At 25 years old, our first Private cellar release is our youngest whisky, but it's certainly not without character. It took 2 master blenders to select the casks used, and the liquid has been aged in American & European Oak casks before finishing in European Oloroso Sherry Casks.

The real story of Littlemill Distillery begins over two centuries ago. In 1750 Archibald Buchanan purchased Auchentorlie Estate just a few miles west of Loch Lomond on the banks of the River Clyde, from his brother Andrew. And with it, a brewery called Littlemill.

In the 15th century beer was a staple drink for many Scots, with the brewery on the grounds of Auchentorlie supplying the monks of nearby Paisley Abbey. The Buchanans however, had their eye on making something infinitely more complex and significantly more valuable…
