Smartest thing I heard from a supt recently: As part of reopening planning, arrange a simulated school day (or even 1/2 day) for key stakeholders (supt, bd, union pres, etc) to "attend" school under draft plan. From bus to class to bathroom, walk in their shoes b4 deciding.

I made breakout room choice doors where Ss will "go" to during their work time. We're using Google Meet & I plan to link different Meet links to each 🚪so Ss can collaborate, work alone, or get extra help. Honoring differences & personalizing instruction! Feel free to use⬇️

One of my better ideas: Making a a slide deck for subs and creating a short bitly link for it. The short link is always on my desk. I can update emergency lesson plans by editing the slides. Subs make their copy from my link and can edit as needed.

A3: Funding to help aspiring teachers move from provisional to fully licensed. Cohorts in VA to do the coursework together. Less negative talk about educators and our schools - celebrate successes! #vaespchat

A4: Research supports mentoring. Administration is lonely and hard, you need a team to help support. As a previous professor, this was something we offered to our students (and divisions) after graduation. Formalized and supported would be great#vaespchat

A5: Telling our stories! Getting the good news out there to our legislators. They are making decisions based on what they think they know. We need to plan the narrative. #vaespchat
