Donald Trump said he “couldn’t care less” if car prices go up. That’s the kind of thing you say when you’ve never had to save your hard-earned money for a car. I care. Democrats care. And we’ll keep fighting to lower costs for working families.

Trump’s tariffs are a tax on working families—plain and simple. He’s coming for your coffee, cheese, peanut butter, and even baby formula. Instead of easing the burden at the checkout line, he’s making it worse. We can’t afford his chaos—literally.

The markets are reacting to Trump’s reckless trade war, but the real concern is what comes next—job losses, higher prices, and a weaker economy. For families already stretched thin, this isn’t medicine—it’s a gut punch. We need leadership that puts people first.

Our country is in a housing affordability crisis—and Trump’s reckless tariffs will only make it worse. Higher costs, slower construction, fewer homes. That’s not leadership. Families deserve some breathing room.

Trump gutted Social Security services, and now his buddy Elon Musk is making it worse. Seniors are waiting hours—or getting no help at all—because of their reckless, cruel cuts. This is what happens when you treat government like a business and people like an afterthought.

Over the last four years, Democrats passed the most aggressive climate legislation in our nation’s history. Now, Trump and Republicans are using the next four to roll it all back—risking our health and our planet. This #EarthDay, the contrast couldn’t be clearer.
