"Cooper sneering 'I’m going to tell them there’s an African American man threatening my life' highlights this truth about race in America: White people are far more aware of the structure of the thing than they care to admit." read will you wear wigs? on #AmyCooper: huffpost.com/entry/amy-coop…

In the time between Eric Garner's "I can't breathe" and George Floyd's "I can't breathe" police in the United States killed at least (AT LEAST) 5,947 people. #WeCantBreathe

Understanding policy process = power “Aspirations have to be translated into specific laws and institutional practices...the elected officials who matter most in reforming police departments and the criminal justice system work at the state and local levels.” - Barack Obama

This!!! And we have to understand that policy isn’t fast enough, nor is it applied equally. Much of the protest is because of failed or selectively inforced policy & telling folks to vote is only part of the solution. Disruption & other efforts have to occur alongside voting.

Wanna know what a “do tank” is? 🤪 Check out my new article with Erik and Paul. Hint: it has nothing to do with COVID testing water treatment. Tweeting that was NOT on my 2020 bingo board, but I’m glad that finally getting this paper out is...

It is unmistakeable that a just and equitable recovery from COVID depends heavily on community colleges. ~Dr. Pam Eddinger as the #DHL2020 speaker. Thanks to NC State Belk Center for hosting!

Good news is, if Loeffler loses tonight most of her jeans and flannel shirts are still well within their 30-day return policy.

You can’t describe what’s happening in the Capitol as a “small group of extremists” when they’re being supported by the president, 16% of the Senate, 1/4 of the House, the local police forces & officials at the Pentagon.

Otter.ai thinks that IPEDS is “eye patches.” Turns out state leaders don’t think eye patches are good for lots of analysis... Happy Friday 😂🤣😂

If you’re ever thinking about moving to a new state, go watch the state legislature’s budget hearings related to your chosen profession (or anything else you value). The discourse is shockingly (tho unsurprisingly) different in states with different political ideology.
